Remake: Licence and Permissible Use

This page governs the use of the Remake framework: the framework itself, the materials that describe it on this Website, and the Remake name. It sits alongside the Terms of Use, and where the two differ, this page takes precedence for the framework.

Using Remake in your organisation

Remake is openly published, and applying it is what it is for. You may:

  • Read, and share within your organisation, the framework pages on this Website
  • Apply the framework, its path, its verdicts, and the ADAPT motion to your own organisation’s work, including in a commercial organisation
  • Use the assets in the Remake Library to assess, plan, and govern your own remaking
  • Reference the framework in your own internal documents, with attribution to mariothomas.com

This permission applies to your organisation’s own use. It is an exception to the personal, non-commercial default in the Terms of Use, and it does not transfer to work you do for others.

What requires a licence

You may not, without a written licence:

  • Deliver Remake to third parties commercially, including consulting, training, or advisory services built on the framework
  • Offer products, tooling, or services under the Remake name, or in a way that suggests they are part of, or endorsed by, the framework
  • Republish, redistribute, or adapt the framework materials outside your organisation
  • Present the framework, in whole or in part, as your own work

For licensing enquiries, please get in touch.

The Remake name

The Remake name identifies this framework and its author, and a United Kingdom trade mark application for the name is pending. You may use the name to refer to the framework accurately, for example in internal documents, citations, and commentary. You may not use the name in the name of your own products, services, or offerings, or in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or origin, without a licence.

No warranty, and not advice

The framework and its materials are provided as is. Applying Remake to your organisation, and the decisions you take while doing so, are your responsibility:

  • I make no warranty that the framework fits your circumstances or will produce any particular outcome
  • Nothing on these pages is legal, financial, investment, or other professional advice
  • You should take your own professional advice where your circumstances require it
  • The Liability terms in the Terms of Use apply to the framework materials as they do to the rest of this Website

Changes

The framework is versioned, and this page is dated. If these terms change, the change will be recorded here, and the version of the framework you adopted remains identified on the framework’s own pages.
