This page explains the cookies mariothomas.com can set, what each one does, and how long it lasts. I keep this deliberately short: the site sets no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and analytics run on my own infrastructure.

What cookies are

The cookies I set

If you accept cookies, the site stores two first-party cookies for analytics. Both are described below.

__s_aid

An anonymous identifier (a random UUID) that lets me count returning visitors without knowing who you are. Expires after one year.

__s_ct

A consent timestamp recording when you accepted cookies, so I can honour your choice. Expires after one year.

If you decline, I still collect anonymous, aggregate analytics, page views and the like, but without the ability to recognise a returning browser.

Declining cookies

You can decline at any time using the banner at the bottom of the page, or clear the two cookies above from your browser settings. Declining does not reduce any functionality of the site.

• Clear site data for mariothomas.com in your browser’s privacy settings.
• Enable Do Not Track in your browser, which the site can be configured to respect.

Changes to this policy
